Notice: An important message from the IRS about the tax forms and free options available to file your taxes.
The library will assist you in obtaining the form you need, but library staff cannot offer tax advice.
Visit the Info Desk on the upper level for assistance in obtaining common forms.
Do you need to make copies of tax-related documents?
Copy machine accepts coin (no pennies), $1 or $5 bills. $10 and $20 bills are accepted if the machine has enough change.
We encourage patrons to download and print the forms they need using the convenient links below, or to file online.
File free online at IRS, State of Illinois, or Cash App Taxes (formerly Credit Karma), or H&R Block
The Library also has other resources, such as privately published tax guides and books with detailed instructions such as J.K. Lasser's Your Income Tax, The current edition lists the year you file the return, i.e. 2024 edition refers to tax year Jan 1, 2023-Dec. 31, 2023.
Many Federal and State tax forms can be downloaded on the Internet. (see links below)
You may also download and print forms you need. Library card or guest pass required. Self-printed forms are 15 cents per page.
W-2, 1099 and other informational forms used in filling out personal income tax forms must be obtained from the appropriate employer, bank, or financial consultant. For employers or institutions looking for blank copies of these forms, they can be ordered from the IRS (1-800-TAX-FORM), and purchased through office supply stores.
